This CD is being released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the birth of Paul Hindemith. As chance would have it, the solo part in Hindemith's "Trauermusik" is played on the same violin which once belonged to the leader of the Amar Quartet in which Hindemith himself played viola for many years.
The CD was sponsored by the Sparkasse Hanau Foundation and the companies Heraeus, Dunlop AG and Degussa AG.
